Standard equipment of apartments

The equipment of a fitter’s apartment differs significantly from that of a normal holiday apartment or a hotel room. It is specially tailored to the needs of craftsmen and fitters, who often work in one place for several weeks or months. While hotels usually only have a bed and a bathroom, fitters have a complete facility that enables independent living. From the fully equipped kitchen to separate bedrooms to the washing machine, a lot of the standard equipment is standard, which makes everyday life more pleasant far away from home. This text describes which equipment features are standard for professional fitter apartments and what tenants should pay attention to when booking.

bedroom and sleeping facilities

The heart of every fitter’s apartment is the bedrooms. In contrast to hotels, where double beds often dominate, there are almost exclusively single beds in fitter accommodation. The reason is simple: fitters rarely travel with a partner, but usually alone or in a team with colleagues. Single beds offer more privacy and make it more flexible.

The beds should be of good quality, as after a long day of restful sleep is important. Medium hardness mattresses are standard, including duvet, pillows and bedding. Professional landlords change the bed linen between the guests and often also provide replacement covers.

In addition to the beds, wardrobes or at least wardrobe cabinets are part of the basic equipment. Fitters who stay for several weeks must be able to store their clothes properly. Bedside tables with lamps are also common, as are blackout curtains or roller blinds for undisturbed sleep.

There is a TV in every bedroom in many fitter apartments. This allows residents to relax after work without having to agree on a joint program. A 32-inch TV with access to the usual TV programs is now standard.

kitchen and dining area

Do fitters have a kitchen and laundry facilities? Yes, a fully equipped kitchen is indispensable. It enables residents to take care of themselves and thus save considerable costs. A complete kitchen includes stove with oven, fridge freezer, microwave and often a dishwasher. The kettle and coffee maker are also standard.

Cookware is also important. Pots, pans, crockery, cutlery and glasses must be available in sufficient quantities. Professional landlords equip the kitchen for the maximum number of people. If the apartment is designed for six people, there should also be six plates, cups and cutlery sets.

The dining area is mostly in the kitchen or in the living room. A table with enough chairs allows common meals. This social aspect is particularly important for teams that work together. Here you can sit together, eat and discuss the day after work.

Kitchen equipment in detail

  • Fridge with freezer compartment, often in XL size
  • Microwave for quick meals
  • Complete cookware and cutlery
  • Coffee machine or coffee pod system
  • Dishwasher for higher quality apartments

bathroom and sanitary facilities

The bathroom is another important area. In the case of fitter apartments for several people, the number of bathrooms is decisive. A bathroom for a maximum of three people is ideal, so that there are no long waiting times in the morning. Larger apartments therefore often have two bathrooms or an additional guest toilet.

Standard equipment includes a shower or bath, a toilet, a sink with a mirror and ample storage space. Towels are usually provided by professional landlords, as well as basic soap and toilet paper. Hairdryers are also standard today.

The question of washing facilities is crucial for longer stays. A washing machine is part of good fitter apartments, either directly in the apartment or as a shared machine in the basement. Drying racks or access to a drying room allow the laundry to dry.

Living room and common area

Not all fitter apartments have a separate living room, but this is common for larger units. The living area serves as a common room where the team can come together after work. A couch or several armchairs, a coffee table and a TV are part of the basic equipment.

Internet access is particularly important today. Free WiFi is standard and is expected by all tenants. The connection should be fast and stable, as many fitters want to videophone or stream movies with their family in the evening. A minimum speed of 50 Mbit/s is recommended today.

Additional features

In addition to the basic equipment, there are other features that increase comfort. Is there parking for vans or sprinters? With professional providers yes. Sufficient parking spaces, ideally directly at the house, are very important for craftsmen with company cars and tools. Some landlords even offer covered parking spaces or garages.

A balcony or terrace is not a standard, but is appreciated by many tenants. Being able to sit outdoors after a long day at work is pleasant. A small garden or a green area also increases the quality of living.

Iron and ironing board are also included, as is a vacuum cleaner and cleaning agent. Some landlords also provide enough bed linen and towels, so that tenants do not have to bring anything themselves.

Practical Extras

  • Sufficient parking spaces for transporters
  • Fast WiFi in all rooms
  • washing machine and drying facilities
  • Balcony or terrace for relaxation
  • vacuum cleaner and cleaning material

Differences in equipment quality

The quality of the equipment varies depending on the landlord and the price segment. Simple worker accommodation offers the essentials at reasonable prices. High-quality apartments for fitters score with better furniture, more modern appliances and additional amenities. The price usually reflects the quality of the equipment, so that everyone can find the accommodation that suits their needs.
